Im looking to build a new system i want it small, either matx or mini itx. I can fit what i want in either, my only concernt is this is a gaming rig (single card) will a bigger board give me more pci-e lanes and effectively better gaming experience. i know the m.2 drives use pcie lanes right so along with a powerful single card is mini itx gimped?

btw im not sure if im going amd or intel yet.

thanks for any advice!

Solution
PCIe lanes are driven by the chipset, the physical dimensions of the board have nothing to do with it.

full ATX vs MiniITX if you have only a M.2 and a single card they will perform identically.
