[SOLVED] Does mixing RAM sizes matter for APUs?

I've a laptop with ryzen 3 3250u Vega3 (APU) , 4gb RAM (soldered).

I've seen Linus's video on mixing RAMs and found, as long as you don't mix different frequencies, it doesn't really matter. Then I found videos like this which shows 4gb+4gb configuration gives better performance in APUs compared to 4gb+8gb. (They might have mixed different frequency in this video, but many people say mixing different size ram for APU specifically doesn't give expected performance.)

Should I add 4gb or 8gb RAM of same frequency of soldered?

Regardless of what platform you're on, it's never a good idea to mix and match rams. If you want a simple analogy, look at ram upgrades as if you were buying a pair of shoes. If you loose a shoe from that pair(for some odd reason) and you return to the shop where you bought the pair from, do you think the salesman will sell you a shoe(since you are missing one) or will you have to buy a pair? The answer is the latter.

When you're dealing with soldered ram, you should look for ram that the platform supports, which in your case is DDR4-2400MHz. Considering that you're on a mobile platform APU, what is the make and model of your laptop?
