Does my Chrome have a torjan?? (Mac)

I noticed a couple of days ago that my chrome Home Screen and App Screen has changed - the layout if different and there is now a Google search bar within the page. This happened after one of my apps (I think Netflix) crashed and came up with a red sad face icon.

Is this a program update or an error or malware??

I don't think it is a virus. I get a similar screen when I click to open a new tab. This started happening after updating Chrome. http://support.google.com/chrome/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=95451

No, It's just the Google Chrome's Common Feature Displayed. You can remove it if you don't like it, by right clicking on it. Or You could just click on the small arrow on the left side of page.
