[SOLVED] Does my CPU supports 64 bit?

I recently upgraded my pc from 2gb ram to 8gb and installed e8500 core2duo processor @ 3.16 Ghz.
my specs:

e8500 core2duo 3.16 Ghz
Dolgix 8GB (2*4GB) DDR3 RAM 1333MHz
Asus NVIDIA GeForce 210 1 GB DDR3 Graphics Card
G41 Motherboard DL-G41MX3-LT

I have two questions to ask:

1. I installed 2 x 4GB DDR3 RAM, total 8 gb; however my system shows 8 GB (3 GB usable)" why is this? I searched a lot and found that its becuase of my 32 bit Windows 7 Os. I want to confirm is this the real reason?

2. Also, I recently added e8500 processor and checked "systeminfo" on cmd;which shows my processor is of x64 family
" x64 family 6 model 23 stepping 10 genuineintel " (screenshot attached)

but when I check on msinfo32 its says "x86 based PC";

I am literally freaked out; I want to ask can I install 64-bit OS on my pc; if not?
Should I replace my e8500 core2duo with core2quad?

Yes, the ram only shows, 4gbs usable, even though you have 8. This is because of the 32-bit OS.

You're getting mixed up between X64 (64-bit CPU) and x86, the basis for all CPU's out there. Don't worry your chip is 64-bit capable. Getting the 64-bit version of your OS will allow you to use the extra ram, and your CPU will run the 64-bit OS just fine

Thanks for the fast reply. I tried installing Windows 10 64-bit Os. I get no compatibility error.

You don't run the Windows install executable inside Windows. If you used the Windows Media Creation Tool, then it created a bootable USB stick, reboot your system, go into your BIOS and make sure USB device boot is enabled, and then from the boot menu select your USB stick and it will launch the Windows installer. Do not that this will require a full reinstall of your OS, it can't be done as an upgrade, so make sure you've backed up your data.

You absolutely can upgrade your OS to a 64bit. The x86 designation is because of your installed OS, (it is 32 bit). Windows 7 (and up) installation media typically gives you the option of installing 32 bit or 64 bit. Also, if you are trying to install 64bit onto a 32 bit (hardware limited) PC, the installer will tell you it can not install the 64 bit version and recommend you install the 32bit version.
(note: You cannot upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit. So, back up your files first as you will be deleting your current Windows installation in order to perform the 64 bit install. - Sorry for not mentioning that earlier but, I'm sure someone else already has; they were correct.)
