When it comes to upgradability, you are looking at a very neat laptop. It supports up to 32GB of memory across two RAM DIMMS. They can reach speeds of up to 3200 MHz. Then comes the storage options, which include a 2.5″ SATA drive slot, as well as one M.2 PCIe x4 slot, which fits up to 2TB and 1TB of storage respectively.

Well, Crucial show it can use an NVME as an upgrade - https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/dell/inspiron-3593

The manual says that it can only support a maximum of 16 GB memory.

I wasn't really showing the ram amount, its possible there are different models within the range and that was a higher one they took apart.

Or they were wrong
Configurations supported
  • 4 GB DDR4 at 2666/3200 MHz (1 x 4 GB)
  • 8 GB DDR4 at 2666/3200 MHz (2 x 4 GB)
  • 8 GB DDR4 at 2666/3200 MHz (1 x 8 GB)
  • 12 GB DDR4 at 2666/3200 MHz (1 x 4 GB + 1 x 8 GB)
  • 16 GB DDR4 at 2666/3200 MHz (2 x 8 GB)
  • 16 GB DDR4 at 2666/3200 MHz (1 x 16 GB)

well, thats unusual.

its funny it can support 1 x 16 but not 2 x 16. you better off with 2 sticks in most cases, 2 x 8gb being best choice.
