Well I did an extensive thread asking, if I could put just a gpu and a psu(enough watt) in my stock pc, if it would work, but I recently bought a r9 270x(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202047), and I went to open up some slots and clean while its shipped here, and noticed they don't open, unless I break off the little welding spots on them.

AND my 270x that's on its way says it needs 2.2 slots, and it looks like I only have one.(http://m.imgur.com/q4yfbFT)

and here's the difference between the two slots: (http://m.imgur.com/pxZZJ9T)

Did I waste my money? 🙁

~we aren't talking about my specs as far as hardware, I understand everything else and its compatible, just is it physically possible for me to insert my r9 270x into my stock case?

I had the same issue with my old prebuilt.
Most entry level-high end cases have screws that are taken out to remove those panels, so they can be put back in if you want.

OEMs and Prebuilds spot weld their cases and expansion slot covers in, to discourage what you are doing. They would rather you buy a new PC, not upgrade yours, so they get money. Just take a screwdriver, place it into the cross on the plate, and bend it around and such. Eventually the spot welds will break and you will have two open slots. Know that you cant put it back now (See how they work this?)

You did not waste your money. The card takes up two slots as most do these days. You'll remove the slot cover from the back of your case in the adjacent spot. Unless I misunderstood something from your post?
