Wouldn’t hurt. I’ve got a 3 fan 3080 on the way and ordered one of these.

Of course there are other models with rgb etc. but they don’t run much as you can see. So if you are concerned maybe snag one to be safe.
Ok, thank you. This is the only cheap support bracket i can find here. https://www.theitdepot.com/details-...ort+Bracket+(R-ST500-BKA1AA-G)_C36P34678.html

Why I ordered the bracket for my 3080 that’s in the mail currently. I looked at the 7900xt but heard stuff about driver issues and on a chat I’d asked a tech YouTube guy about a 6900xt since I was looking at those as well and he answered actually on the stream and said basically drivers on 7000 series were so bad he would go for the 6800xt or 6900xt or something like that in his personal system.

I started looking and prices seemed to increase a bit on some of those cards some Black Friday. Came across and won an auction for a 3080 10gb and the guy tested it before sending but it had Dan issues and he issued a refund. Which I’d won it for 560 dollars US. Found another they listed as used but had in the notes that it was new and had been pulled from a cyberpower pc. So I snagged that and it’s on the way. Currently somewhere in Texas.

I did look at the 7900xt online from my local microcenter but 900 was just a bit more than I wanted to spend. They had a 6950xt but it was close to 800, and then a 3080 10gb model similar to mine, different manufacturer, but they wanted about the same price as the 6950. I do need to pay down some debt at the moment and have some cash set aside for that, and just couldn’t justify 150 to 300+ extra. I’m hoping this 3080 will be a good card for at least 2 years and that during that since perhaps I can switch to am5, and save up for a card for after that time which I imagine they 3080 in 2-3 years might be ready for retirement.

Guess I should work out how it works once I install card next week. Need to install new PSU as well.
