Forgive me if this sounds stupid I'm confused about this whole VRAM thing. I have a EVGA GeForce 8800gts 320mb does it have VRAM or is that just what ram is called in the graphics card world? Please somebody explain this I am confused.
That 320mb is the video memory or vram. VRAM can be accessed by two different devices simultaneously. This enables the RAMDAC to access the VRAM for screen updates at the same time that the video processor provides new data. VRAM yields better graphics performance but is more expensive than normal RAM.
