Does my MB support a 6.Gen CPU?

Hello,I bought a lets say "not that good" pre-built when i was a total PC noob before about 2 years.
So i am preparing to build a new PC next year and i already started to look for some parts on amazon. I wanna get the Intel Core i7-6700K (6th gen) as a CPU and a Asus Prime Z370-P Gaming Mainboard. First of all is it a good MB for gaming? And on the Amazon page it says it supports the newest 8th gen CPUs but does that mean it supports only 8th gen CPUs or also the 6th gen ones?

Solution
You'd be better off with an i5 8400 than a 6700K, or a Ryzen 2600 if you want to go AMD.
Newer generations added two extra cores so a modern i5 is at least as good as an older i7.

Is the pre-built upgradeable?
