Does my motherboard need to be compatible with a 'superclocked GPU?

This might be a bit of a stupid question, but I'm not denying that I am too.
I was just wondering if a 'superclocked' EVGA graphics card (specifically the EVGA GTX 1080 8gb superclocked Gaming ACX 3.0) needs to be compatible with any other components in the build, mostly the motherboard.

Solution
It just needs to be compatible with your power supply and a CPU powerful enough to drive it, so the CPU does not bottleneck the GPU.

Requirements:
Minimum of a 500 Watt power supply.
One available 8-pin PCI-E power dongle
