Does my motherboard support a pcie ssd?

So i am planning on buying a new ssd. Now i am wondering if my Asus B85M-E supports a pcie ssd. I checked the asus homepage but i am not sure.

It does, but you would have to move your GPU to the PCI-E 2.0 slot. This will cost you 1-3% in GPU performance depending on the game.

Ok, thanks for your quick reply. But this leads to another question: I want to install windows on the SSD and use my HDD for games and stuff. So should i use a migration tool to migrate just the OS or should i use my windows cd to install it ( i am a little bit worried because many people said that they cant boot from their pcie ssd)

I would recommend that you image your existing boot drive to the SSD using Maricum Reflect.

Thanks for your quick reply again. I think i am not gonna buy a pcie ssd (because a lot of people had issues and there is a noticable price difference) i wanna buy a samsung 850 evo. Samsung includes a migration software which clones the C partition. So my final question is if i clone the C partition to my ssd can i just delete or format it from the hdd?

Yep, once you're up up and running, you can just quick format the HDD.
