Hello, so i was searching for a better cpu on pcpartpicker and i didn't see any AMD cpu's ,does my mother board ( MSI Z77A-G45 ) not support AMD cpu's?

And if it does what cpu can i upgrade to from an i5-3570k overclocked to 4.1 ghz on every core?

A B450 Tomahawk would DEFINITELY support 1000 and 2000 generation AMD CPUs. It will support 3000 series CPUs with the proper BIOS update -- https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B450-TOMAHAWK#support-cpu

2600X, 2700X, with proper cooling you should be able to overclock all cores to 4.1 (no guarantees since all chips react different)

If you currently have a i5 3570K in your motherboard then either you have the wrong motherboard or processor listed.

A Intel motherboard will not work with a AMD processor and the same the other way.

With a new Intel motherboard you could upgrade to an I5 10600K which could be overclocked to 5.1 Ghz, but the best bang for your buck will be an AMD Ryzen 5 3200 or better. If this is a gaming build, it is best to put money into the GPU. You can check Gpucheck.com to see which combination of CPU and GPU work best for gaming. As for AMD Ryzen 3000 motherboards, I would go with an X570 rather than the B450.

You can upgrade to a Intel i7 -3770k. I can run 4.4GHz on mine. But they are very hard to come by and you'll probably pay over $300 for a used one. You'll be lucky to find a 3770 for $280. It would do okay as a gaming machine. It makes for a fine gaming machine with 16gigs ram and a RX580 @ 1080p. I can run monster hunter world and tomb raider on it no problem.

Your money would be better spent getting an $80 B450 motherboard + $170 3600 Ryzen CPU + $110 16GB memory. I would recommend a new power supply too. It would be about $60->$120 normally depending on your power needs (prices for components are INSANE right now) . You might be able to get away with your old supply but you'll have to disable deep sleep states.
