I bought a pre-assembled HP Envy pc and I was thinking about upgrading my cpu (it currently has a GT640) to a GTX660, since I'm getting a good price from a friend.

I was wondering if it would be compatible with the motherboard, which is a IPMMB-FM (Formosa).

The thing I don't really understand is the supportted modules (PC3-10600 (DDR3-1333) and PC3-12800 (DDR3-1600)), while from what I get GTX660 uses GDDR5, but I don't really know what they are about.

Thanks in advance.

Solution
The supported modules are for RAM, the 2 sticks youll see in the motherboard. GDDR5 is graphics RAM, which is part of the GPU.

The mboard has one PCIe-3.0 slot which will accommodate a GTX660, so go for it!
