Question Does my motherboard support Ryzen 3rd Gen?

I sincerely hope my question is in the right place, my apologies if I've erred!

I currently have a Ryzen 1200 on a budget MSI motherboard that has served me quite well in my 2015-16 gaming build (GTX970). I find the CPU bottlenecks quite heavily in BF5 and am thinking of an upgrade to the Ryzen 5 3500 (which is on a deep discount where I live)

I checked the official page for my motherboard on MSI's website and the main product listing shows support for Ryzen 1st and 2nd Gen, however when I check the full compatibility list for the motherboard I see the Ryzen 3500 in it!

My board is the MSI A320M PRO-VD/S (https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/A320M-PRO-VD-S)

Could someone with more experience building PCs please help me out? Will a 3500 work properly on my existing board?

It may be supported with newer BIOS but you have to look into this

It has the processor listed but you will need to probably update your BIOS first.

The website of your motherboard manufacturer is a good start.

It does support 3000 series , howerver you need the update the bios to the latest version (which apparently is the only one released after Zen 2). The only caveat is that it's still a beta version.
To get it, go to the motherboard's page -> Support -> BIOS and click on the download button.

With the Ryzen 3000 series motherboards you will need the most up-to-date version of Windows 10 as well as the most up-to-date version of bios that is a final version and not a beta bios.
