I have a Gigabyte h97-d3h https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-H97-D3H-rev-10#sp and found the hard way that the m.2 on board slot, runs only at pcie 2.0 x2 speed bottlenecking my Samsung PM981. Question is now if I buy a Pcie adapter card, do I still have enough pci lanes for it to run at x4? I only have 1 pcie 3.0 x16 slot, the other is pcie 2.0 x4 from what the specs state. Am I doomed? Don't have money to buy a new motherboard, cpu and ram
