Need help on my upgrade graphics card... Have a Lenova H430 I5 2320 8g ram with AMI Aptio AV 10 motherboard. I need to know if my PNY gtx960 can handle it? I have upgraded power supply to a 550 watt dc 12volt 22 amp. Don't know if it's enough. I think it recognizes it. I get a Lenova logo screen then after 3 seperate beeps about a minute apart and then black screen with a type of card description on the upper left of the monitor. And then a few seconds later a bunch letters and numbers disappear from the description. No boot up. Can anyone help?

Solution

pre-builts may have locked bios, that prevents upgrades

reset cmos

go into the bios and set primary display to PEG

set UEFI to legacy mode

The UEFI setting is in the BIOS menu

You go into the bios and look for UEFI, CSM, or secureboot

set to "legacy", or "disable", or "compatability"

for resetting the cmos, you need to read the motherboard guide on the steps it specifically needs to do this

or you can open your computer yourself after turning it off and look at the motherboard, it will usually have a jumper that has written on the mobo itself "clear cmos"

if you are not able to go into the bios, you might need to take out the new gpu first to go into the bios
