Does my overclock take effect even after i close MSI afterburner?

HEY GUYS I HAVE GEFORCE GT610
and i overclocked it and i gained like 5 fps more on kombuster but will it take effect when i play games like fifa 16 and when i close msi afterburner?
and could you guys suggest games based on by gpu
