does my psu work

I plugged it into a new motherboard that i bought it old to someone else because it used

but the green light comes on inside the board but when i use a screw driver to try and turn it on it does not turn on i use a screw driver because i dont have a power switch but my motherboard does not come on can it be that the psu does not have enough power to even power this thing

Wells i am going to just try a psu from my professor he has a good one and i just bought a power switch cable although i heard that you can turn it on with a screw driver but it did not work so i am thinking it does not have enough power to power the entire motherboard on?

but shouldnt it sparked up a little at least
