does not power on

Asus Maximus VII Hero does not power on,is the motherboard gone or can it be fixed and what to look for?

Try unplugging everything....All USB devices, sound card, video card, CD drives etc..... then try it.

You're just trying to determine if the MB or CPU is bad or if it's something else.

It it comes back on you have a fault in one of the devices you disconnected.

At any point did anything happen to give you reason to believe the MB was damaged? (smoke etc)
