You would have to figure out which VRM is assigned to memory. If OCing the memory is causing heat issues, you might try taking the heatsink off, reapplying some good thermal paste (like Noctua NT-H1) and see if it is any better. GPU boards will "heatsoak", so if one part gets hot, it can cause other parts to be abnormally hot as well.
You could also look at getting little aluminum heatsinks, but it can be tricky to find ones that fit under a GPU heatsink without modification.
