Rick,

Sad to say that Office 97 will not load on my XP Home SP2 machine. I get an
Error Message: 16 Bit windows subsystem
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not
suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose
"close" to terminate the application.

What can I do???

try using compatibility wizard - set it up for windows 95 (run in sep mem
space)

Go to openoffice.org, download Open Office 2.4, has it's own versions of the 3 programs you want, and it's 100% free and will even run in Vista, and probably has more features than your older office suite. I have Office XP at home, didn't even install it b/c I like Open office. And yes it reads the Microsoft format files, except for the very newest ones, though Open Office 3.0 coming in september is supposed to.
