I am looking forward to buy a gtx 1080, but i'm not quite sure yet which one i want to get. i saw different types of cards with some one 8-pin while others had 2 8-pin power connectors. Does one 8-pin power connector limit the overclocking abilities of a gtx 1080?

Solution
No not from any of the reviews I have seen, it seems to be much more down to your luck in the silicon lottery rather than the power delivery components of the card for pascel.

GTX1080 cards differ in the amount of factory overclocks. Yes, dual 8 pin cards will be more highly overclocked.
They will likely be present on the better binned chips. Vendors bin the chips and sell the better ones in higher overclocked versions for a price premium.

You will get fair value from a factory overclocked card, and I would not bother trying for something more.
Just buy the card and enjoy it.

looks like to good old luck of the draw may not matter with pascal at all

if you thing and lok at the ftw over the sc the ftw has all them so called ''extras '' but look at the colock specs just a 17 MHz difference is all they were able to gain ???? there you go
