Does one brand excel over others in long term support?

I'm curious if there are any mobo manufacturers that do a better job in terms of bios and utility software than others. I ask as I have an Asus board where currently the AI Suite does not work due to Windows updates. It has been broken for a good while. I did find a newer version for another board model. It worked for a while, until another windows update killed it.

It would be nice to just have simple utilities that didn't break every time windows got updated. Or at least provided an updated utility to solve the issues.

Obviously this is mostly an issue as the mobo ages. My current model (Z 87 plus) is from 2013. Should I assume that the lifespan of boards are less than 5 years?

Thanks

AI suite was dead at birth but has also been updated all the time. None of those programs are any good for settings or OC. MSI has a good utility MSI Afterburner that works reasonably well on their products.
I wouldn't judge (and even less base choice of make) on basis of their support SW.
