Does only ddr2 motherboard supports ddr3 graphics card

Sir i am having a ddr2 motherboard of mercury PIG31U. And i want to install Sapphire AMD R7 240 2 GB DDR3 graphics cards.

motherboard memory type and vram type have NOTHING to do with each other, does not matter



make sure your power supply is enough, your pc case is big enough to fit the card, and your motherboard bios is up to date

That card requires minimum PCIE 2.0, but the slot on that mobo doesn't look like it is? Will this not matter?

it has a PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot
