Does opting for Low-Profile Memory affect performance?

I was planning on buying the Noctua NH-D15 and came to the conclusion that I had to buy Low-profile RAM.
So, I was wondering, what difference, if any, does buying low profile DIMM's have to buying big heatsink Dimm's?

If they are the same stats as the regular memory .. not really .. there is a little less heatsink to cool the RAM but if you aren't overclocking it, there should be no drop in overall performance.

No. I have low profile memory and it runs perfect.

Just run them in dual, triple or quad channel (depending on your mobo)

With DDR3, no. DDR2 had a tendency to run hotter, so those fin things appeared.

Now, they are there simply because they look cool and edgy.
