I tried a 256 Gb Sandisk Extreme Pro and it kept saying the card needed to be formatted on a constant loop until I pulled it out. It's possible it might with the latest firmware update or with another card but being that's the only one I have and this isn't my phone I didn't go further with it. You could probably ask that here and get a more definitive answer.
