Does Physix impact that much in newer games?

Hi, I found a recent deal to buy an used sapphire tri-x oc Radeon R9 290x for 260$. I know this is a very powerful card. I am selling my GTX 660 Ti. Anyways I never put an attention to physix in games. But now I am thinking about it. Is physix really an important matter in modern games? I mean if I use Radeon R9 290x will I miss much of the effects physix have on games? Meanwhile my processor is xeon e3 1245 v3 which is similar to a core i7 4790.

Physx is generally not something you'll be worried about. It's generally just extra fluff and slightly more interactive graphics. It can look cool, but it's not needed. In fact, here is a list of the games that use it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_games_with_hardware-accelerated_PhysX_support

If you play those games a lot, it may be something to consider, but honestly, that's a good deal for the 290x. I'd go for it.
