Seeing as most console gamers use TV’s that only display 60Hz it proves that for most it is ok.

For most people, 60Hz is absolutely fine and pretty much does the job well in almost all scenarios. If you are more of a competitive gamer, a higher refresh rate does help but that does not mean you're limited.
