Does removing the m.b. battery remove any manufacturer locks?

I read here that removing the mb battery defaults the entire mb. Does it also remove locks on multipliers and such too from pre-built machines?

If you are talking about C2D they have the multiplier lock on the CPU itself so nothing to the motherboard will solve this...

Alot of pre-built machine ie Dell, Acer, HP... there BIOS's are propriety and generally dont include or disable these type of adjustments so n00bs dont go breaking there machines with some changes in the BIOS. The only way i know of doing this is if the motherboard in the machine is made by someone like Asus, or gigabyte you MAY... i repeat MAY be able to flash the BIOS with an updated version from one of these manufacturers that could open up the possibility of changing some of these settings.
