Hi, my son & I are building a computer using a ROG STRIX B450-F Gaming II motherboard and tried to install the GPU (Zotac Nvidia GEFORCE RTX 3070 Ti) but when we power up the system, the monitor says "no signal" on the HDMI port....Does the motherboard have a "default" PCIE slot that the GPU has to be installed in? Have tried swapping the HDMI cable but that didn't work....Thank you!

Yes, we are plugging HDMI cable into the GPU, not the motherboard.

  • XPG DDR4 D60G RGB 16GB (2x8GB) 3200MHz PC4-25600 U-DIMM CL16-20-20 Desktop Memory Kit White (AX4U320038G16A-DW60)
  • ASUS ROG Strix B450-F Gaming II AMD AM4 (3rd Gen Ryzen™) ATX gaming motherboard (8+4 Power Stages, HDMI 2.0b/DP,2 x PCIe 3.0 x16, USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type A, USB Type-C, BIOS FlashBack, 256Mb BIOS Flash ROM
  • Noctua NH-L9a-AM4, Premium Low-profile CPU Cooler for AMD AM4 (Brown)

  • Ubit 6 Pack PCI-E Riser Express Cable 16X to 1X (Dual-6pin / MOLEX) with Led Graphics Extension Ethereum ETH Mining Powered Riser Adapter Card+60cm USB 3.0 Cable

As the Athlon has integrated graphics, have you tried plugging the HDMI into the motherboard to see if you can at least get into BIOS? There maybe a setting in the motherboards BIOS where you need to switch from integrated graphics to support a GPU? Please check your motherboards manual. I have to say though, I feel you need a stronger CPU in order to fully utilise your 3070 ti.
