i want to buy a Roku device to connect to my tv with an ethernet cable.

i don't want to use either telemetry or that any information will be sent to Google.

i know that if i'll use youtube it will happen.

but if i won't use youtube, does the roku player will connect to google anyway?

are there other players worth knowing about that are privacy friendly??

would appreciate some insight

i live in in ISRAEL so i need a shipment to israel too.

thank you

love

I don't own a Roku, but if it needs an account to operate, it will probably talk once in a while with the motherhsip. From there on, each app installed on Roku has its own privacy policy and telemetry (if any).

OTOH - it all depends on what you call "Telemetry".

A Roku will absolutely talk to home base.

Whether it also talks to google is a different consideration.
