I just picked up my first graphics card and I'm really excited, getting great FPS on my games. But this one game it has screen tearing. I can't adjust the graphic settings though, I think it's on automatic by default.

Anyways all my other games are great except for that one game. So does screen tearing hurt the graphics card or my monitor? Because it really does not bother me, I get so focused in my game that I don't notice it.

Thanks!

The game by the way is MX vs ATV: Reflex

Turn on vsync to make it go away. No it wont hurt anything, if it doesn't bother you than go right ahead and let it tear it will be fine, personally it drives me insane. Having vsync off will take leash off your graphics card so to speak, it will run the game at the highest framerate it can achieve or the highest framerate the game will run at and thus it will be working harder and probably get hotter, heat is what degrades a graphics card so as long as you keep your temps in check it will be fine.
No screen tearing does not hurt the GPU or the monitor.

Normally screen tearing is due to your GPU not being in sync with your monitor. Normally a technology like VSYNC will fix this. If you can't find a option for it then you might be able to force it on by editing the games ini files.

Thanks, can you tell me if 60 C is hot? It's a Gigabyte R9 380

Nope 60c is just fine for a 380. I would say 80c+ is where you should start worrying.
