I want to use the snipping tool feature without saving and just copying the snip by pressing the copy button. I am asking this because I am worried that it will eat up my space on my disk.

Solution

It will copy to the clipboard.
Then, you can paste it into whatever you wish.

It does not save the 'picture' anywhere except RAM and possibly a tempfile.
Nothing to worry about, it is not sucking up your drive space.

Only if you Save does it actually write a file to your drive.

No. Power shell and wsl and windows terminal is best addition

I do use the snipping tool on windows and shotwell on Linux for bug reporting a lot though
