Does Storage affect performance in games

Hey i recently downloaded some mods to gta 5 and i was wondering if downloading that affected performance in other games.
My ssd i have 183 gb of free space out of 237
And my d drive i have 838 gb of free space out of 937 and when i downloaded my mods i went from 847 to 838 do you think that would have affected the performance in other games?
I know its a dumb question but i just wanna know

No it shouldn't have any negative affect on any of your other games. The only thing's I've noticed that are affected gaming wise with storage is that you get faster loading with SSD's & with open world games I've noticed less texture pop-ins when the game is on a SSD as opposed to a HDD.
