Hello.
I want to ask about the 2021 ASUS Rog G15 that comes with Ryzen 5800H + RTX 3060.

  1. Does it have any issues?
  2. Are the hinges good or the screen is wobbling like HP Victus 16?
  3. Are there better options in terms of build quality and cooling for under $1000 ?
  4. Is it better than a Legion 5 with same specs? (in terms of build quality)?

Thank you.

The ROG G15 has fairly positive reviews, and is a pretty solid laptop for the price. I think this would be an excellent choice if you are looking to play games on the go. Just remember that it is a gaming laptop, and as such, the battery life is terrible. I would also consider how much plan to bring it around. I know many people who bought a gaming laptop because they thought they would take it with them, but they never did. In those cases, they would have had a much better gaming experience for the price had they built a traditional desktop. If you are not planning to game, the 2023 MacBook Air and even 2022 MacBook Air are outstanding laptops. They have excellent durability, solid performance, and amazing battery life. If battery is your utmost concern, I would look into a Mac. You can find good deals on Apple's Certified Refurbished site. Hope this helped, take care.

Why insert an ad for Apple systems, when the OP never mentioned anything about Apple?

Thank you, but I need the laptop for multiple things and one of them is gaming, so I can't go with MacBook Air (it also costs much in my country).
So, I need to know whether legion 5 2021 or Asus rog 2021 is better in terms of build quality and cooling (with same specs).

Listing a product's strengths is an ad? Apple silicone laptops are objectively good. He asked if there are better options for 1000 with better durability. And I responded, if you do not play games, Apple has some options. So if I asked for a Windows laptop, or a decent laptop for 1000 bucks, just because I didn't mention a particular brand in question, that automatically means other brands can't be recommended? That's like asking for a good EVGA power supply with other potential recommendations, and then giving someone flak for suggesting a Corsair one. Instead of questioning my response, it would be beneficial for this person if you contributed to the conversation. This isn't something to discuss in a forum post.

I have an HP Victus 16 laptop (I5-12500 and RTX 3060), and you're right, the screen wobbles, and the edges should be more curved.
Additionally, the display brightness could be higher.

However, it's a matter of price/performance.

Since you don't really play games on your lap, you can manage the wobbling.
You could also buy an external keyboard, so you will overcome the design issues.

I would also recommend considering the Asus ROG G15 for potentially better quality, but it might not be the optimal solution.

The main issues are that the Victus has DDR5 RAM support and newer technology.
Thank you for your reply.

Actually, I don't want to carry laptop, mouse, charger and also keyboard everywhere I go, so I need to use the keyboard of the laptop itself.
Also I need a keyboard that is better for typing, so if you will choose between asus's keyboard and legion 5's keyboard, what would you choose?

To confirm, are you asking about the Zephyrus or Strix?

If it's the Zephyrus, it will run fairly warm. I was not happy with mine and returned it but was super solidly built, sturdiest Laptop ive ever felt.

If it's the Strix, it's built very well as all, not quite as rigid but solid. Cooling infinitely better.
