Hello, like the title says I wanna ask if the AMD ATHLON II X2 250 works with ddr2 667 mhz? My motherboard:GF8200SM-M3 (V1.0) supports both but I wanna know if they work together.I already have 4 gb of 667mhz ddr2 ram and I just want to replace my athlon 64x2 5000+ cpu with that one.In the cpu specifications it only says 1066 mhz but I don't know if that is the only freq supported or if this is the max it can support.I see people on the internet using them together but I don't know.

Solution

Yes, both 667 and 800Mhz. I've never seen DDR2 sticks of 1066Mhz.
I see 1066mhz labeled on the internet both as ddr 2 and ddr 3 so I don't know exactly in what category to put them :).Thank you very much for your answers and your time I will get the cpu.

As mentioned already they will work together. All K10 CPU's ( Athlon II and phenom II's) support up to 1066 MHz DDR2 memory and Athlon II's support up to 1333 DDR3 and Phenom II's up to 1600MHz native but Phenom II's can hit the 1866 speed when overclocked.

you are good to go.
