Does the amount of space allocated to a game or app on a hard disk impact performance

Hi, I've had an issue with large and frequent framedrops in a certain game. This has been going on for nearly a year now, it problem is unusual in that it only occurs with one game and no others. I have tried many things to attempt to fix this but to no avail. However, one thing that was suggested to me recently was to put the game in a separate partition on my HDD. Will this fix the issue?

No, that has no impact.
And a different partition on that same physical drive does not matter either.
