Solution

When the M.2 port is populated with a SATA-based drive.

• 6 x SATA 6Gb/s ports
• 1 x M.2 slots (Key M)*
- Support up to PCIe 3.0 x4 and SATA 6Gb/
- Supports 2242/ 2260/ 2280 storage devices

* The SATA2 port will be unavailable when an M.2 SATA SSD module has been installed in the M.2 slot.

The 960 Evo is M.2 NVMe/PCIe x4...

It won't occupy a SATA port..... if you populate the M.2 with a SATA SSD, it'll disable SATA port #2 (as it's using the SATA controller), but the 960 EVO is PCIe?

I don't believe that'll disable any SATA ports.
