Does the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo truly support AM2?

I am using a MSI MS-7309 motherboard and apparently its socket is AM2 and the CPU that I have attached is AMD Athlon 64 x2 5000+

While recently looking at the CM Hyper 212 Evo on Newegg I have noticed that there is no AM2 support mentioned yet on the official product page here they mention AM2 support for AMD sockets.

So now I'm stuck in this dilemma on whether I should be getting this fan and heatsink or not in fear of it not being compatible with my motherboard. Can someone from here please confirm that this cooler supports AM2 sockets? Hopefully some of you have tried it.
