I have this ssd without drive letter and i am using the volume ID to open the drive (Security Reasons)
question: if i put the ssd into a friends pc, will windows read the drive's original volume ID or will it give the drive a new ID?

i am using a batch file to open the drive with volume ID.

If the SSD doesn't have a drive letter, it has no content on it. It should be good to go onto another system but again, you won't find any data on it if it's encrypted by the previous owner. Also, if you're looking for assistance on bypassing a security measure, it's not allowed, per our rules.

If your data on it is under risk by malware, run malwarebytes and then access the drive though a drive letter less drive will show up as a blank drive in Disk Manager.

The ssd is mine and it doesn't have encryption.
It has a file system and everything. All i've done is remove the drive letter and using volume id instead to open the drive and use it.

It is working find without a drive letter.
I know that formatting a drive changes the volume id.
but if i move the drive to another pc, will the volume id change or stay the same?
