hi, so I am building a new computer and I would like to know if the Fatal1ty Z170 Gaming K4 Supports 1x16GB Ram memory, I went to the official webpage and I checked the memory support list but it only states that it was tested with 2 and 4 modules not with a single one, due to budget I was planning on buying 1 memory of 16gb at a time, but I don't really know that if my build will boot with just a single memory or if I need two. any help will be welcome o/

Getting 1x16GB should work fine, there is no reason the motherboard won't work with a single stick of memory. You lose the benefit of dual channel RAM but that shouldn't be much of a problem for a gaming PC. If you want to have 2x16GB in the future, getting a 2x16GB kit is the only way you can guarantee it will be stable.

hypothetically speaking in case I didn't want to upgrade then, would the motherboard boot with a single memory? I am asking cause I found a really good offer in a 1x16GB that is actually cheaper than 2x8GB and has better timings.

thanks ^-^

Yep. In many cases, even if you have them at the timings of the highest rated stick and the speed of the lowest rated stick, it can still work, but will be unstable.
