As said in title i need to know if the 1050ti uses one or 2 slots in my motherboard my specs are
geforce gt 710 @1gb
intel core i5 3470 @3.2ghz
16gb 4x4 ddr3 ram
hp 8300 sff

It depends on which 1050Ti you're looking at. I believe there are one or two made that are single-slot. But they are full-width profile.

I am not certain of your PC, but I believe the HP 8300 SFF requires a low profile video card. However, it looks like the layout of the motherboard for your machine allows for a 2-slot card.

That's assuming I'm looking at the right one - without seeing pictures of your PC and motherboard, I'm not 100% certain.

There are low profile 1050ti cards as well, but they require 2 slots. I have never seen a 750/750Ti or a 1050/1050Ti that is both single slot AND low profile.

Here's a picture of a single-slot 1050Ti (it is NOT low profile): http://www.inno3d.com/images/products/x-large/products_id_297_4.png

Here's a picture of a low-profile 1050Ti: https://images10.newegg.com/BizIntell/item/14/137/14-137-081/2.png

Looking at the picture of the motherboard, I see two pci-ex x16 slots right next to each other. That means a dual slot card should fit, although it does have to be low profile. Of course this means you'd lose access to that second pci-ex slot since the card would cover it. You may want to verify the pci-ex slot outputs a standard 75W, sometimes pre-built computers use non standard motherboards. If that was the situation, a GT 1030 would be a better choice.
