Does the Intel e5500 2.8 GHz come with integrated graphics?? Can I use a core 2 duo in the same socket ie lga775??

Wanted to replace my Intel e 5500 with a core 2 duo, first time computer assembly....
I don't want to go for a external graphics since my budget is basically nothing..

Core 2 Duo E8400 doesn't have integrated graphics. And yes, it is compatible with LGA775. E5500 also doesn't have integrated graphics.
If you want graphics, a simple GeForce GT210 would be fine. It costs £32 on Amazon.

In 775 the integrated graph was on the plate and not on the micro. In general, only the Gxx chipset and not the Pxx or Xxx graphics were integrated. The integrated graphic was very very weak, almost useless.

What mobo you have?

depending on your mobo (and its chipset) you can put or not the duo core
