Hi, I maybe misinformed here. The socket for a Pentium G3240T CPU might be different to an i5 ?
This is for the HP ProDesk 600 G1 Desktop Mini PC.

Thanks! I wanted to upgrade to an i5.

Note that the socket being the same doesn't necessarily mean an upgrade will work. OEM motherboards are really hit and miss with what CPUs they allow, and this being a very basic unit, there's a good chance that the microcode is limited to the low power Haswell CPUs and probably won't take any of the Haswell Refresh CPUs either.

Your pc is a slim unit that supports only the very low power T suffix processors.
Here is the list"
  • Intel core i7-4765T processor
  • Intel core i5-4570T processor
  • Intel core i3-4130T processor
  • Intel pentium G3220T processor
  • Intel pentium G3420T processor
  • Intel celeron G1820T processor

You can probably buy a i5-4570T for $15 on ebay.
A worthwhile upgrade from 2 threads to 4.
