I was scouring through the internet looking to see if the iPhone 15 Pro Max supports a 1080p 144hz external display but I couldn't find any answers, so I came here to see if any of you guys would know.
If so, are there any good usb-c / lightning hubs that have a DisplayPort out that supports 1080p 144hz, and
2 x USB 3.0. ports?

I also have this DisplayPort to lightning connector for some reason, that supports 1080p 144hz so maybe some headroom when you guys are searching for options?

No. On 1080p, max what you could get is 60Hz display.

If you want to game on 144Hz, get a PC instead.

Apple has built dedicated adapter for external display connection,
specs: https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MUF82AM/A/usb-c-digital-av-multiport-adapter

It offers HDMI port. So, if you want DisplayPort, get HDMI to DP adapter as well.

Are you sure it only supports 60hz?
Read the specs of the Apple's external display adapter.

This adapter allows you to mirror your USB-C enabled Mac, iPad, or iPhone to your HDMI-enabled TV or display.
