Does the motherboard come with speakers?

Hey,
For sound to work do I need to plug in speakers or do they come with the motherboard?
I plug in my headphones and sound comes perfectly.

Speakers - no. Headphones work because they are in effect miniature speakers (but only the wearer can hear what comes out of them).

Some motherboards have a tiny "beep" speaker for fault diagnostics but it can't do anything except beep.
