Here's the system I've put together:

Intel Core i5 3570K Unlocked Quad Core Processor
Corsair Cooling Hydro Series H100I CPU Cooler System
ASUS P8Z77-V Lk
Corsair Vengeance Blue CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B 8GB 2X4GB
ASUS GeForce GTX 770
Cooler Master CM Storm Stryker
Corsair AX760I 760W
Seagate ST2000DX001 SSHD 2TB
ASUS DRW-24B3ST
Cougar Vortex 120MM Hydro Dynamic Bearing Fan

I've worked out the compatibility of most of these parts, but I'd like a looking over from you guys just to be certain everything checks out. Particularly the cables -- does my motherboard have the right type and sufficient number? Please look it over and let me know what you find.

The heat difference is easily outweighed by it's other benefits such as newer and better chipsets and reduced power consumption. You can also upgrade to broadwell when it comes out if you use a Z97 or H97 chipset.

I heard the performance boost was marginal, but the Haswell runs hotter.

Thanks, I'll definitely look into that.

If I'm wrong about the heat or what I heard was exaggerated, I'd like to know. I feel like the benefits of a z79 board would outweigh any slight temperature differences. Most of the z77 motherboards I looked at were discontinued, and I had to pick from what's left over.. that's what bothers me most about this build..
