Is it possible to install evo 970 nvme on the motherboard where evo 860 is installed? My laptop model panasonic xz6R

It seems to have a single M.2 slot for storage device.
Nvme drives (like 970 evo) may not be supported.

The motherboard has a m2 drive. And m2 sata memory is installed on it. It looks like the motherboard slide is m2m.

Of course I'm traveling, and I've posted these photos from the internet. But the photos are no different from the original motherboard. Thanks

M.2 is just the form factor.
It can be SATA (860 EVO) or NVMe (970 EVO) or either.

Just because it is M.2 does not mean it will take any M.2 drive.

I tried to check if the Panasonic xz6 motherboard supports ssd nvme or not.

I put a healthy 1 TB nvme Western Digital ssd on it.

When I put it inside the slide, it was placed without any problems.

Unfortunately, when I checked the BIOS, it did not detect ssd. And showed the hard drive capacity empty !😑

Conclusion: Only ssd supports m2 sata .
nvme is not supported.
thank 🌹you
