# [SOLVED]Does the psu really output the Watts mentioned on it ??!

##### Prominent
Iam having a question about a psu with 600W 80plus Gold certified .
It means that at 100% load it's efficiency is 87%
does it mean that at 100% of load it only output 600W x 0.87 = only (522W) ????
or the 80 plus ratings is only meant by energy saving ??!

If it's decent it'll deliver all 600W across all rails
When a psu has multiple rails does it not do the full wattage at every rail.

does it mean that at 100% of load it only output 600W x 0.87 = only (522W) ????
No.

or the 80 plus ratings is only meant by energy saving ??!
The higher the rating the less wattage it will pull from the wall to give you that 600watt.

The watt rating is the output rating. It’ll deliver 600w and draw more than that from the wall at full load.

If it's decent it'll deliver all 600W across all rails

If it's 87% efficient at 100% load it means it'll draw 690W from mains
