[SOLVED] Does the router CPU is unused if it's working as an access point?

My ISP doesn't allow me to put their router in bridge mode, so I can only add another router in access point mode
But would that mean the CPU from the router that is working as access point is completly unused?

If all clients connect to the access point would that help to relase some load from the main router CPU?

A router being used as an access point will still rely upon its CPU. Just in a different capacity.

Not really, the overall routing of traffic for all devices will still be in play and handled by the main router.

As an access point, a router isn't using a lot of the cpu. This is one reason why routers as access point perform quite well.
